(201) Brno – Industrial Zone Cernovice Terase (179 ha)

The Brno Industrial Zone - Cernovice Terrace with an area of 179 ha (442 acres), its flat terrain and very good transport accessibility optimally meets all standards for placing investments "into the greenfield".

The zone is situated near the E50 motorway (Praha – Brno – Olomouc), railway and the international airport Brno – Tuřany.

The area is suitable for projects from the selected fields of the processing industry, strategic services and technological centers. The field of the processing industry would mainly include the branches such as aviation, astronautics, transportation means, computing techniques, information technology, electronics, telecommunications and radiocommunications, pharmacy, biotechnology and medical instruments.

(1) The larger part of the zone with a disponible area of approx. 75 ha (186 acres) is designated for strategic investors with the lowest limit of investments set to CZK 200 million (approx. EUR 6 million)(1.

(2) The development and administration of the southeastern part of the zone with an area of approx. 36.2 ha (89 acres), for which the limit of investments has not been set, is realized by a reputable development company CTP Project Invest s.r.o. This company offers to investors financing, construction and consequent lease of the industrial estates.

(3) The Statutory City of Brno will keep the further occupying of the area in the northwest of the zone also by smaller investors who do not have to meet the condition of the set lowest investment limit of CZK 200 million (approx. EUR 6 million).

The city of Brno has currently been negotiating with new applicants for investments in the industrial zone.
The intention to start constructions of an industrial unit has already been confirmed by the following companies:

Daikin - Japanese company
- curently preparing construction of a manufacturing facility for production of compressors for air conditioning units
- creation of over 500 qualified jobs in the first phase of operation

Aguna - Swiss company
- preparatory phase for development and manufacture of precision instruments
- target - to employ at least 80 people, most of whom will be college / university graduate specialists

Omori - Japanese company
- production of automotive engine parts, transmission parts, air-conditioning compressor parts, flow control valves for gas equipment and oil pumps
- planned starts of production of the machining parts for air-conditioning compressors in Brno is in December 2005
